Communication has become...
Communication has become effortless... but have we forgotten how valuable a physical connection is?
It is evident that we live in a world that has quickly become "connected". We have developed an automatic response to certain stimuli, for instance, when we hear that familiar "DING" (whether it be from our cell phone or other electronic device) we have an uncontrollable urge to check the incoming message. We have undoubtedly become an instant gratification society. Messages are sent with high hopes of receiving a response in a "timely manner". When we don't receive a response in this "timely manner" we begin to feel anxious and even distraught. Often questioning the way we communicated. "I know the point I was trying to make but did I saying it in a way that they could understand?"
In all this CONNECTEDNESS are we really connecting?
The act of communicating is truly a simple, yet powerful, action.
Being able to communicate effectively can be a vital part of being successful and creating connections.
As technology advances and beckons us to connect faster we must remember that even though it may be a more timely/cost effective tool, we still have to connect and communicate with the human side of life. Building these relationships means that we have collaborated together and have become partners achieving one goal.
Using the right type of communication and connections has many perks, from building successful relationships and creating interest in you and your company, to finding lasting friends and possible mentors.
People often want to work with or utilize companies that they know and trust.
The question then is - Are you connecting successfully?
