Acting Intentionally and Engaging Oneself

Engaging is defined as pledging oneself or entering into a contract.
In the last few months CI has explored values we feel are conducive to a safer environment. If you are willing to do whatever it takes to be safe, then you have added your "commitment stamp" to any situation that may affect you or a colleague for the rest of your life.
The new catch-phrase for doing things purposely is, "doing things with intention."
When we "act intentionally" we are engaging ourselves to doing something with intention. Everyday we should prepare to make life changing decisions. Can you imagine if we entered into each day this way? I am certain that many of us would make much wiser decisions. Each act would and could be determined by the outcome. But what is stopping us from acting intentionally? Don't we have anything to live for? I know the answer, and so do you. We all have plenty to live for, our families our friends... the list could go on and on.
Many of us have time constraints that cause us to act on things impulsively. Later when we reflect we thank God that things turned out the way they did. We take advantage... and then soon it develops into a habit. One day as we all know, it will turn around and bite us!
As we reflect on this 1st quarter of 2011, what behaviors can we change? What decisions can we make that would put our commitment stamp on today, how can we engage in ours or other peoples lives to ensure the pieces fall into place at the end of the day.
Change is not easy and most of us have to work overtime to do so. Change can lead to growth, and - IF YOU ARE NOT GROWING, YOU ARE DYING!
Asking people to change their habits is as hard as a diet. They may agree that the habit is bad, but being disciplined to change, is a learned behavior.
