Why You Need A Good Woman For Success

By Carmine Gallo

Today, an epic interview with Jacqueline Kennedy, dating back to 1964, is being released to the public. The interview, conducted in seven parts with historian Arthur Schlesinger Jr., happened just months after John F. Kennedy's assassination. Jacqueline Kennedy is incredibly candid and charming throughout the interview, appearing ever the loyal, proud wife, even during what her daughter Caroline Kennedy refers to as "the extreme stages of grief."

When we heard some of these tapes, we were reminded once again how important a supportive, confident wife is for the ongoing success of a powerful man.

While it's certainly not a requirement for career success, a supportive life partner can propel you professionally and make life richer and more meaningful. Here are some of the things that a good woman can do for you.

She provides self-confidence

By praising what you do and not demeaning your ideas or vision, a great woman can stroke your ego and give you the confidence you need to succeed. The marriage of Ronald Reagan and Nancy Reagan has been described as one of the great love stories of the century. Reagan knew it. From the 1950s to the '90s, before Alzheimer's slowly took his life, Ronald wrote devoted love letters to his wife, expressing his gratitude for her support. These letters were later published in Nancy Reagan's book, titled I Love You, Ronnie.

In one of the book's letters, written while he was Governor of California, Reagan expressed how much he valued his partner: "There are no words to describe the happiness you have brought to the Gov. It is no secret that he is the most married man in the world and would be totally lost and desolate without you."

She feeds ambition & drive

Women enjoy men who are fueled with ambition, drive and dedication. Hillary saw something special in Bill Clinton when the two met at Yale Law School. She shared the vision he had for himself, and provided a sounding board for his ideas and actions in all of his political campaigns. All too often, our ambition consumes us, and leads to hasty decisions. An intelligent spouse can help refine and focus that drive.

Connecting_Puzzles_800x400Change is in the air and all around us, not only do we see more rain, we are also seeing a fluctuation of weather patterns. As we all get

older we realize that time flies by and "yester-days" are almost always too late. But with this in mind, are you at

peace with who, what, where you are? Not only in life but as a person in whole. We cannot go about our lives wishing we

had done this or that, doing this will only cause regret. Instead live your life for other people, if you are living for

yourself then I guarantee you are miserable. When we live/ do for others so many positives for your life will come about.

My challenge for you this month is: Can you be counted on by others? Self promotion and selflessness do not mix...

Connecting_Puzzles_800x400Communicating effectively and efficiently takes preparation and practice.

2 years ago Callender, Inc. came up with a slogan to improve our team's success, "Are you up to PAR? (Plan, Activate, Reflect)

We applied this slogan to all of our team meetings, business meetings, staff meetings, business trips, etc. We found that we communicated better and learned new things about each other, thus creating interpersonal relationships within the team. All 3 elements are essential for communication and growth. For communication to be successful the receiver must understand the message. It is always a two-way street. Therefore planning for these opportunities is a vital part of communicating clearly.

Below are also some key items to remember:

-What and why are you communicating?

-Who is it that will be receiving the information? (Knowing how they will understand or receive the information is crucial in how you plan on delivering the information. That is why building relationships and knowing who you are dealing with is so important)

Connecting_Puzzles_800x400Communication has become effortless... but have we forgotten how valuable a physical connection is?

It is evident that we live in a world that has quickly become "connected". We have developed an automatic response to certain stimuli, for instance, when we hear that familiar "DING" (whether it be from our cell phone or other electronic device) we have an uncontrollable urge to check the incoming message. We have undoubtedly become an instant gratification society. Messages are sent with high hopes of receiving a response in a "timely manner". When we don't receive a response in this "timely manner" we begin to feel anxious and even distraught. Often questioning the way we communicated. "I know the point I was trying to make but did I saying it in a way that they could understand?"

In all this CONNECTEDNESS are we really connecting?

brain-exercises"If you focus on results, you will never see change. If you focus on change, you will get results." ~Jack Dixon

As an adult you have developed methods and shortcuts for processing information quickly and formed a routine to carry out daily tasks without effort. This system is engraved in our being to save time, energy and sometimes money. But what are the repercussions of our routine systems? ERRORS

Your brains is a very unique organ, capable of producing chemicals in your body to enhance your focus. By using a visualization of fear the brain is activated and stimulated. This stimulation produces the chemical Epinephrine, AKA adrenaline. Adrenaline elevates your heart rate, boosts your blood pressure and increases sugar levels in the bloodstream which promotes brain activity. Your brain is an ever changing organ and needs to be stimulated in order to grow and develop. Keeping your brain active is not the only thing you can do to stay sharp. Exercising, hydrating properly and eating healthy are important factors to not only keeping your brain healthy but your body as well. Helping your brain stay fit and active is very important in each of our daily routines. With a fit brain we stay less distracted and more focused on the task at hand.
